Ellie Ann Carder Obituary

It is with great sadness, after a long search, that our family has to announce the passing of Ellie Ann Carder. She left us on March 3, 2024. Ellie was beloved by her parents Jerry Carder and Christin Shoffstall. As well as her parents, she is survived by her brothers Dylan Carder and Darion Carder whom she lovingly referred to (in her younger years) as “her boys.” She also leaves behind Grandma Patricia Miller, Grandma Darla (Printz) Whittaker, Grandpa Allen Whittaker, Grandpa Tom Carder and Grandma Kathy Carder.  Ellie is also survived by the following aunts and uncles:  April, Lindsey, Cindy, Dave, Wayne, Kathy, Sheila, Ina, Danny, Joe, Amanda, Emily, Jody, Jason, Josh, Brad, Brian, and Chris.  Also, Ellie leaves behind the following cousins:  Quintin, Charlie, Taylor, Logan, Noah, Giselle, Riley, Jace, Kylynn, and many others. She was preceded in death by the following grandparents: Dale Hollingsworth, Marilyn Printz, Donald Printz, Ann Hollingsworth, and Betty Miller. Also, she was preceded in death by Uncle Jackie and Uncle Gary. These loved ones are in heaven awaiting Ellie with open arms.

When Ellie was younger, she participated in cheer-leading and dance competitions.  As a young teenager, she enjoyed hanging out, talking, and laughing with her friends. Ellie made friends easily and loved to talk nonstop about them. Many of them agree that purple was her favorite color.  One of her friends recently described her as “…an amazing friend [who] was kind to everyone who knew her.” Another friend recently commented on her loyalty. Most of all, though, Ellie will be remembered for her laughter; it was contagious.  The room came alive when Ellie entered. The more she could make everyone laugh, the more fun she had.  She had a way of uplifting others and entertaining them with her humor.

Also, Ellie was a hard-worker.  She enjoyed her jobs in the school cafeteria and at Hot Head Burritos in Troy, Ohio. She had a generous, kind spirit and enjoyed helping other children.

The family will receive visitors from 4:00pm – 8:00pm on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Baird Funeral Home, Troy.  Services will be led by Pastor Jon Keller at 11:00am on Friday, March 8, 2024. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Troy, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, we ask that you consider giving to the Go-Fund-Me Account set up in Ellie’s name to help cover the cost of the funeral expenses.
