Doris J. (King) Wilson

Doris J. (King) Wilson, age 90, of Troy, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at her residence.  She was born on June 15, 1933 in Troy, OH, to the late Herb and Wilma (Rong) King.

Doris is survived by two children: Thomas Eugene (partner, Kari) Wilson of Boulder, CO, and Theresa (Gary) Ellenwood of Huntingtown, MD; four grandchildren: Pierce Ellenwood, Gavin (Kayla) Ellenwood, Kelsey Ellenwood and Quinn Ellenwood; three great grandchildren: Knox Ellenwood, Coast Ellenwood and Banks Ellenwood; sister-in-law: Janet Millhouse of Troy; and nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years: Martin Eugene “Gene” Wilson and sister: Ruth Eileen Newman.

Doris was a member of First United Church of Christ in Troy.  After high school, Doris worked at Wright-Patterson and then went on to raise a family.  She later worked at Four Star Upholstery and in the office of Dr. Kenneth Smith before retiring.  Doris was a member of Piqua Boat and Ski Club and loved to fish and garden.  Doris enjoyed her card club friends and her trips to the casino.  She was involved in the Elks Lodge with her late husband.

A Public Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Pastor Lauren Allen officiating, followed by a family graveside in Riverside Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
