Donald E. "Don" Shough

DONALD E. “DON” SHOUGH, age 63, of Troy, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Grandview Hospital ER in Dayton.  He was born on September 9, 1957, in Piqua to Patricia (Henderson) Creson of Piqua and Darrell Shough, and step-father Edward Creson of Piqua. 

Don is survived by his wife of 42 years: Lynn S. (Campbell) Shough; two children: Malissa Persinger of Piqua and Nichlas (Tiffany) Shough of Troy; two sisters: Gail Shough of Beavercreek and Brenda (Jody) Causey of Piqua; grandchildren: Joseph Allen Thurmond, Ariana Basil, Aaron Clouse, Abigail Clouse, Rebekah Shough, Urijah Shough and Shad Shough; and several niece and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great.  Don was preceded in death by one granddaughter: Jazlynn Persinger.

Don was a 1974 graduate of Piqua High School.  He was manager of Walker Shoe Store from the time it opened its doors until it closed them.  He then went into home health care for the last 30 years.  His clients all loved him.  In 1993, Don accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.  He enjoyed sharing his testimony and witness through his music and his worship band “SonSeekers”.  Don played softball for many years and also coached local women’s league.  He loved all sports.  Don was an avid Cincinnati Bengals fan and Philadelphia 76’ers fan.  He truly loved his Lord, his family, his job, his friends and life and will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

Celebration of Don’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on July 10, 2021, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1879 Old Staunton Road, Troy, OH.
