Brian A. “Butch” Hemm, 57, of Troy, passed away on September 5, 2021 at 12:04 AM at Kettering Medical Center. He was born on September 18, 1963 in Piqua to Mary Brush and the late Charles Edward Brush.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Deidre Hemm-Winslow (Nick), his seven siblings, Mark Hemm of Florida, Angie (Lane) Powell of Centerville, Shirley (Tom) Schlater of Columbus, Todd (Jody) Hemm of Troy, Keith (Janessa) Hemm of Florida, David (Kristina) Brush of Troy, and Michael Brush (Christina Spencer) of Springboro, as well as his loving girlfriend, Julie Overbey. In addition, Brian was a proud uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Brian grew up in Piqua and was a graduate of Lehman Catholic High School. Brian served in the United States Air Force achieving the rank of sergeant. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1291 of Celina and The American Legion Post 668 Vandalia. A lifelong Ohio State Buckeyes fan, Brian enjoyed a full life surrounded by loving family and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Baird Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, with full military honors. Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
