Winston "Buddy" Carmichael Winston "Buddy" Carmichael, 70, of Troy, Ohio, died Saturday, July 14, 2007, at his residence, surrounded by his family and loved ones after a long hard fought battle with ALS. He was born September 14, 1936 in Pensacola, FL, to the late Bennie and Leona Benton Carmichael. His wife of 49 years, Frances Alfred Carmichael, resides in Troy. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Julie Jamison of Troy; son and daughter-in-law, Winston Darrell and Teresa Carmichael of Tipp City, OH; two sisters: Ruth Mae and husband Phillip Duckworth of S. Carolina and Leona "Cricket" and husband Ray Gerdan of Milton, FL; three brothers-in-law: Louis and wife Donnie Alfred of Pensacola, FL, Eugene and Marion Alfred of Pensacola, FL, and Steve Alfred of Jeffersonville, IN; sister-in-law: Volita and husband Don Divens of Piqua, OH; grandchildren: Jena Jamison and Fiance Matt Nallen, Janine Jamison, Brittney Carmichael, and Joshua Carmichael and Fiance Brandy Marshall; and great grandson, Winston Dallas Carmichael on his way. He was also survived by many special nieces and nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ellen Sawall. He was a member of the Franklin Lodge F&AM # 14, Antioch Shrine of Dayton, Order of the Eastern Star, Troy Eagles Lodge, and the Troy Fish and Game. He retired from BF Goodrich of Troy in February of 2002 after 36 years of service. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM Friday July 20, 2007 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Troy. There will be an Eastern Star Services at the conclusion of visitation Thursday evening. Friends may call from 5-7PM Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County or the ALS Ohio Chapter. Friends may also express condolences to the family through www.bairdfuneralhome.com.
