Winnie Reed Smith, age 78, of Troy, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at her residence.  She was born on August 21, 1944, in Troy, to the late Smith "Cotton" and Eva Mae (Sharits) Reed.

Winnie is survived by her son: Matthew A. Smith of Troy; husband: Denny Wyen of Troy; siblings: Wanda Fulcher of Orlando, FL, Wanita (Greg) Morris of Denver, NC, Rick (Gaylene) Reed of Troy and Lonnie Reed of Troy; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son: Melvin Howard Smith, Jr.; one sister: Wilma Reed Willoughby; and two brothers: Timothy Reed and Glenn Reed.

Winnie was a graduate of Northwestern High School in Springfield.  She retired from Hobart Corporation after 23 years of service.  Winnie's top priority was her family, whom she loved greatly.

Memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.  Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon on Saturday at the funeral home.
