William E. Voris William E. Voris, age 83, of Troy, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at his residence. He was born August 21, 1925, in Springfield, Ohio, to the late William and Jean Prince Voris. His wife of 60 years, Ruth Allen Voris survives. He is also survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Pam and Gayle Waldrop of Ft. Worth, Texas and Marilyn and John Updike of Troy; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Kathy Voris of Troy; four brothers: Lowell Voris of Troy, Larry Voris of Statesville, NC, Kenneth Paul Voris of Piqua and Russell Voris of Detroit, MI; seven grandchildren: Jeff Brandi Updike, Jennifer Nathan Myers, Megan Scott Kuck, Dana Nathan Leonard, Nathan Voris, Christina Brent Wells and David Waldrop; and five great-grandchildren: Theo Updike, Caeli Updike, Sofie Myers, Jonah William Myers and Hayden Nathanial Myers. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Tom, Buford Wayne and Malcolm Voris; one sister, Orpha Jean Voris and one grandchild, Ashton Updike. Mr. Voris was a US Navy Veteran of WWII and a member of the Church of the Nazarene of Troy. He retired from TWA in Quality Control. Mr. Voris was an avid golfer and renowned area fast pitch player who loved sports of all types. His greatest passion was his family to whom he was fiercely loyal and dedicated. He would do anything to make one laugh and was a pleasure to those who knew him. Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at the Church of the Nazarene, Troy, with Rev. Ron Barber officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Friends may call from 6-8PM on Tuesday at Baird Funeral Home, Troy.
