WILLIAM T. "BILL" COPAS, age 66, of Troy, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at his residence after a lengthy illness.  He was born on August 6, 1949 in Dayton, OH to William Roby and Mattie (Verney) Copas.  His wife of almost 46 years, Sharon (Snyder) Copas, survives.

Bill is also survived by one daughter: Dawana (Rusty) Abbott of Troy; one son: Dustin (Angie) Copas of Troy; and seven grandchildren: Donavan, Kasey, Breanna, Chaz, Brock, Jemisan and Jeylan.  In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Bill proudly served his country as a member of the US Army.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 29, 2016 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Rev. John Shelton officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Troy.  Full military honors will be provided by the Veterans Honor Guard at the cemetery.  Friends may call from 5-8 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
