William Eugene ''Bill'' Shaffer, 77, of Troy, Ohio died on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born on May 22, 1927 in Troy, Ohio to the late William Clyde and Mary Ann Shultz Shaffer. He married Marcella E. Swabb and she survives, his wife of 56 years. He is also survived by his sons & daughters-in-law; Robert E. Stacy Shaffer of Troy, OH; Gary L. Erica Shaffer of Sidney, OH; daughters and sons-in-law; Vicki J. and Joe Kindle of Huntsville, OH and Tina M. and Jim Reigelsperger of Fletcher, OH; brother, Clyde Shaffer of Troy, OH; ten grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Norma June Lewis; grandson, Gary Lee Shaffer, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Miranda Marie Shaffer and stepdaughter-in-law; Crystal Lonsbury. He served in the US Army during WW II. He operated Alcony General Store for 1 1/2 years; retired truck driver for Marathan Oil and drove truck for 40 years for various companies. He was known for his love of woodworking and participated in area craft shows throughout the years. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2005, @ 2:00PM at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio with the Rev. James Alter officiating. Visitation will be at Baird Funeral Home on Saturday, March 19, 2005 from 12:00-2:00PM. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Ohio.
