IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William C.
Rice
October 20, 1922 – January 18, 2022
With broken hearts, the family of William C. Rice, are sad to announce his passing. But rather than write about his death, we would rather celebrate his life. Dad, and Grandad, lived a full life just months short of his 100th year.
English born, WWII R.A.F. combat veteran, and sole survivor of his flight squadron. Bill met his soulmate and best friend, while training in Hamilton, Canada. Dad returned to England with his wife, W.A.A.C Ethel, until the end of the war before moving back to Canada to start a family: Charles, who died as an infant, William Jr., Stephen, and Caroline. The family grew with the addition of daughter-in-law: Rebecca; granddaughter-in-laws: Danielle and Lauren; grandchildren: Jason, David, Jennifer, Matthew, Jaci and Shane; and great grandchildren: Kaleb and Jacob.
Dad was an avid golfer, CASA volunteer, author, traveler, scout master, active in church community, and a mentor and father to all of us. His accomplishments in life are lessons of servitude and devotion to God, country, and family. His spirit and commitment will live on in all of us.... thank you, Dad, thank you, Grandad.
Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.bairdfuneralhome.com.
Private family service will be held at a later date.
