William E. Hines, age 82 of Troy, Ohio died Sunday, June 1, 2003 at Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born of the late, John Hines and Verda Place Hines in Buckland, Ohio. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Agnes L. Nester; daughters and sons-in-law, Ann Lowery; Jane and Stan Kriesberg; Kay and Mark Allen; Carol and Gene Milota; son and daughter-in-law, John and Ruth Hines; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard A. and Betty Hines; Herbert and Midge Hines and sister, Marjorie Kohlreiser; 26 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant daughter, Mary. A member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church he was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Wapakoneta for 58 years and a lifetime member of the Elks for 54 years. He was a member of the American Legion and a WWII US Army Veteran. A graduate of Blume High School in Wapakoneta, he furthered his education at a trade school for printing in Cincinnati. He retired in 1985 from the Troy Daily News as the Retail Advertising Manager and was former manager of the Wapakoneta Daily News and formerly employed with the Lima Citizen.
