William E. Helmer, 64, of Piqua formerly of Troy passed away Tues 2/27 at Dayton Heart Hospital in Dayton. He was born 1/15/1937 to the late Edward and Catherine Grove Helmer. William is survived by his step father Ralph Kiser of Troy; his wife of 11 years Mary Lou Palsgrove Helmer; 2 sons and daughter-in-laws Clark and Linda Helmer, Scott and Margie Helmer from California; 3 step children and their spouses Ron and Joyce Brown of Tennessee, Robin and Ray Heltzler of Piqua and Rod Brown of Troy; 2 sisters and brother-in-laws Jackie and Bill Polley of Troy and Rebecca and Richard Honeyman of Celina; 4 grandchildren Jessica, Kimberly, Jake and Shane Helmer; 3 step grandchildren Joshua and Thomas Wenrick and Jake Hetzler. Mr. Helmer was a member of the American Legion - Tipp City, a 1955 graduate of Troy High School and Retired Air Force Veteran. Services will be Sat. 3/3/2001 at 10:30 AM at the Baird Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will take place at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Vandalia. Friends may call at the funeral home Fri. 3/2/2001 fro 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM.
