William Robert Hare William Robert Hare, age 88 of Troy, Ohio, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013 at his residence. He was born on July 9, 1924 in Piqua, Ohio, to the late Roy A. and Edith Yearsley Hare. His wife of 64 years of marriage, Marcella Groff Hare, survives. He is also survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law, Roy and Patricia Hare of Manchester, Tom and Sandy Hare of Troy, Leonard Hare of Troy, and Dixie Hare of Piqua; ten grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel Hare and Robert William Hare; brother, James Hare; and sister, Mary Hare. He was a graduate of Troy High School, class of 1942. He was a US Navy World War II Veteran; member of the American Legion; and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy. In 1982, after 24 years of service, William retired from DP&L as a service repairman. He loved woodworking. Services will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy, with Rev. Fr. James Duell officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, with VFW Memorial Honor Guard at the graveside. Friends may call from 5-8PM on Friday at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy.
