William Frederick "Bill" Burt William Frederick "Bill" Burt, age 81, of Troy, Ohio, died at 6:15AM February 4, 2010 at Fair Haven Nursing Home, Sidney, Ohio, after an extended illness. Bill was born on June 13, 1928 in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada to the late Charles and Corine Myra Cummings Burt. He married Elizabeth Saville Burt of Windsor, Ontario, Canada on July 17, 1949 and she survives. Other survivors include son, Dennis Cyndy Burt, children: Morgan and Gordon of Troy; daughter, Beverly Neil Currie and sons Alan and Kevin of White Lake, Michigan; daughter, Holly Gary Majewski, children: Elizabeth and Analeigh of Toledo, Ohio; daughter, Carol Rogowski and daughter Rachel of Toledo, Ohio; and sister, Barbara Holm of Dearborn, Michigan. He was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sons, David William Burt and Christopher Raymond Burt. Bill attended Wayne State University, majoring in Industrial Engineering and Industrial Design. Bill worked as a packaging engineer for De Vilbiss, Hobart Corporation, Burroughs and Ford Motor Company for over twenty years. He was Past President and member of I.M.M.S., International Materials Management Society; Past President and member of S.P.H.E. Society of Packaging Engineer's where he won many awards for his packaging designs. He was also a member and past vice president of the Great Lakes Junior Achievement. Bill was a member of First United Church of Christ in both Sylvania and Troy, Ohio and served as a deacon in the Sylvania church. He enjoyed hiking, hockey, family camping, cards, shooting pool and working with children with the little league hockey team and junior achievements. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00AM on Friday, February 12, 2010 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy. Friends may call from 9-11AM on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Plymouth, Michigan.
