Willard E. Swank Jr. Willard E. Swank, Jr., age 76, formerly of Troy, Ohio, more recently of West Carrollton, Ohio, passed away at 6:25PM on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Koester Pavilion, Troy, Ohio. He was born on September 29, 1932, in Troy, to the late Willard E. and Mary Emerick Swank. His wife of 46 years, Patricia Ann Holder Swank, preceded him in death on November 7, 2000. He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law: Valerie and Kenneth Miller of Dayton, Ohio and Vanessa Berry of Troy; one son and daughter-in-law, Brian Keith and Ann Swank of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; special friend, Thelma Wheeler of West Carrollton, Ohio; three sisters: Gloria Carey of Dade City, Florida, Laura Roop of Tipp City, Ohio and Gennie Scott of Troy, Ohio; six grandchildren: Lee, Aaron and Todd Rademachir, Kimberly and Tiffany Swank and Joshua Berry; and five great-grandchildren: Andrew, Calista, Haley, Brendan and Garrette Rademachir. Mr. Swank attended Staunton Schools. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy and was a US Army Korean War Veteran, also serving in the Air Force Reserves. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Post 88 of Troy, American Legion, Troy, member and Past Commander of the VFW Post 5436, Troy, member of AMVETS #66 of Covington, Ohio, Boy Scout Master, Post 365, Troy and he was a member of the RV Club. Mr. Swank was a retired Tool & Die Maker with GM-Inland, Dayton, Ohio. Services will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy, with burial at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Vandalia, Ohio. There will be VFW Memorial Honor Guard Services at the graveside. Friends may call from 6-8PM Friday at Baird Funeral Home, Troy.
