It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend, Bill Severt. Wilfred B. "Bill" Severt, age 79, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023 immediately after his beloved Cincinnati Reds secured an extra inning win over the Kansas City Royals.

Bill was born on January 30, 1944 in Troy, Ohio and is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sharon (Fenwick) Severt; son, Todd (Katherine) Severt of Troy; daughter, Mindy (Jay) Yoder of Troy; brother, James (Becky) Severt of Troy, and two grandchildren, Hannah and Luke Severt. To know Bill was to love him. He was the epitome of kindness, quick with a joke and never met a stranger. His word or handshake was as good as any steel clad contract. These traits served him well in his real estate profession as the broker for Garden Gate Realty. For over half a century, Bill helped people find and purchase their dream homes. Bill also proudly served as a fire fighter for the City of Troy for nearly 30 years. To continue his legacy of service, the family has established the Bill Severt Memorial Troy Apprentice Fire Fighter Scholarship through The Troy Foundation. Bill's kindness was extended to the community through his volunteer work with the St. Patrick's soup kitchen. He regularly attended services at the First United Methodist Church in Troy.

The Celebration of his life will be held at Baird Funeral Home beginning with visitation on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Fire Fighter's Last Call.
