WILFORD K. PLUNKETT

Wilford K. Plunkett, age 94, of Troy, Ohio passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014 at his residence.  He was born on January 19, 1920 in Tipp City, Ohio to the late Sidney W. Plunkett and Mary Maude (Saul) Plunkett.  He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virginia L. (DeBord) Plunkett; his daughter, Beth (Clarence C. Williams III) Plunkett Williams of Norman, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Paige Williams, Emily Williams, Courtney (Jason) Smith; grandson, Grant Williams; and great-grandchildren, Alexa Smith; Brodie Smith; and Laker Smith.

In addition to his parents, Wilford was preceded in death by three brothers, Garland, Merle, and Eugene Plunkett

He was a graduate of Tecumseh High School.  He was a WWII US Navy Veteran.  He was a member of the Troy Church of the Brethren where he served as an Emeritus Deacon and the Farm Bureau.  He was a former salesman with Saunders Seed Company in Tipp City and an area farmer.

Services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Troy Church of the Brethren, Troy, Ohio with the Revs. Jon Keller and John Shelton officiating.  Interment will follow a funeral luncheon at the church in the New Carlisle Cemetery, New Carlisle, Ohio with military honors.  The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, PO Box 502, Troy, Ohio 45373 or Troy Church of the Brethren, 1431 West Main Street, Troy, Ohio 45373.
