Whitford H. Fisher, age 83, formerly of Troy, Ohio died Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at the Heartland of Piqua, Piqua, Ohio. He was born December 8, 1924 in Clayton, Ohio to the late Cassius and Emma Fisher. He was married to Alice I. Hatton Fisher who preceded him in death on September 26, 2006. He is survived by his daughter, Connie Gwisdala of Troy; son and daughter-in-law, William H. and Becky Fisher of Las Vegas, Nevada; two grandchildren, Robert and Michael Gwisdala; two step-grandchildren, Melissa King and Matthew Grubb; two step-great-grandchildren, Carter and Kennedy King. In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Fisher was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers. He was a US Army WWII Veteran and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and the VFW Post, both in Tipp City, Ohio. Mr. Fisher was a retired auto mechanic in Troy and formerly employed with the City of Troy. Services will be held 11:00AM Monday, December 1, 2008 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, OH with the Rev. Al Bastin officiating. Interment to be held in Bethel West Cemetery with Veterans Honor Guard Services at graveside. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00-11:00AM on Monday.
