Walter E. Mathews, age 79, of Troy, OH. Died Tuesday 1/9/01 at Harborside Healthcare Center, Troy, OH. Born 12/26/1921 in Brownell, KS. The son of Leo & Ester Mathews Conner. Preceded by his wife Freda Brumbaugh Mathews in 1991, Step Father, Frank Conner, & brother, Burt Mathews. Survivors include Sons & Daughter-in-Law, Randy & Theresa Mathews of Casstown, OH; Kurt & Delcie Mathews of Pleasant Hill, OH, Daughter, Patty C. Mathews of Troy, OH. Sister, Vivian Rowe of Greely, CO. 3 Grandchildren & 3 Great Grandchildren. Mr. Mathews was a member of the Quarter Century Club of Hobart Corp., Troy Moose Lodge, Troy Eagles, and Troy Redmens Club. He was a Veteran of WWII serving as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Div. Retired in 1983 after 36 years of service from Hobart Corp., Troy, OH.
