Wallace D. Babcock Sr., age 85, of Troy, Ohio died Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Troy Care and Rehabilitation Center, Troy. He was born November 9, 1925 in Troy to the late Kenneth and Madeline Grigsby Babcock. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Glenna A. Deubner Babcock and son and daughter-in-law, Wallace D. Jr. and Vicky Babcock of Troy. In addition to his parents, Wallace is preceded in death by two brothers, Norman and Robert Babcock and two sisters, Patricia Boleen and Carolyn Bruaski. Wallace was a member of the Troy Baptist Temple and served in the US Navy during WWII. He was Troy's biggest train fan and a HAM radio operator KB8TCZ. He retired from Hobart Corporation in 1988 after 42+ years of service working as a production worker and machinist. Funeral services will be 10:00AM Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor David Mulvaine officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Troy VFW Memorial Honor Guard will perform honors at graveside. Friends may call on the family from 6-8PM on Monday at the funeral home.
