W. E. "BILL" ZUNKE

W. E. "BILL"  ZUNKE, age 87, of Tipp City, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.  He was born in Napavine, WA on January 23, 1928 to the late Ernest Eric and Marie (Bénésh) Zunke. On April 12, 1952 in Troy, he married Mary Ann Thomas.  She preceded him in death on February 22, 2013.

Bill is survived by two sons: Dale (Jennifer) Zunke of Portland, TX and Alan (Deb) Zunke of Troy; two grandsons: Dale (Jackie) Zunke, Jr. and Matthew (Brittany) Zunke; three great grandchildren; and close friend: Becky Jackson of Troy.  In addition to his parents and wife, Bill was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Bill was an active member of Tipp City United Methodist Church.  He was also a member of Troy Elks Lodge #833.  Bill graduated from the University of Dayton with a degree in Engineering, after proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force and the Merchant Marines during WW II.  He was a sales engineer for different electronics companies.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.  Burial will follow Riverside Cemetery in Troy.  Military honors will be provided at the cemetery by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard.  Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
