Vivian E. Gladman Vivian E. Gladman, age 84, of Troy, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, November 28, 2010. She was born to the late John B. and Hazel Noel Harness on March 21, 1926 in Lucasville, Ohio. Vivian was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Throughout her life, she demonstrated her compassion for others and was known for her generosity to her family and friends. Preceding her in death along with her parents were her husband of 55 years, Jerry Gladman; infant brother, Richard Harness; brother, Robert Harness; and two sisters, Marjorie Nishwitz and Maxine Spangenberg. Vivian is survived by two sons: Chris Ann Gladman of London, Ohio and Mark Gladman of Troy. Also, three grandchildren: Lucas and Eli Gladman and Afton Dustin Holfinger. Other survivors include three brothers: Harold Harness of Marion, Indiana, Dale Gale Harness of La Fontaine, Indiana and Russell Harness of Lucasville, Ohio; one sister, Jean Ervin of La Fontaine, Indiana; and special niece, Becky. She retired from the Troy City Schools in 1991 after 25 years of service. Special thanks to Donna, Connie, Roxanne, Ed and all the wonderful nurses, caregivers and staff of Hospice of Miami County. Her family is all so much richer for knowing and having them involved in their mother's life. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy with interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.
