VIRGINIA MANNING HOOVER

Virginia Manning Hoover, age 90, of Casstown, OH passed away on March 27, 2015, at the Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit in Troy.  She was born on February 25, 1925 in Casstown to the late Frank and Ethel Miller.

She was married to Ray F. Manning who preceded her in death in 1974 and Nelson L. Hoover who preceded her in 1999.

Virginia is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law:  David and Janet Manning of Fripp Island, SC; Mike and Mary Manning of Troy, OH; Ronda Manning of Monrovia, IN; daughter and son-in-law:  Sue and Ron Phillis of Troy; stepson and daughter-in-law Larry and Mary Hoover of Tipp City and 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her spouses, Virginia was also preceded in death by her son, Tom; sisters Hildreth Miller and Edythe Stevens; and brothers Merle and Carlton Miller.

Virginia was a graduate of Lostcreek Township and Wittenberg University.  She taught at Tipp City and Miami East Schools, worked at Miami County Human Services, and enjoyed an in-home craft shop, "Jinny's House of Crafts".  She enjoyed shopping, gardening, and numerous family celebrations.  She was a longtime active member of the First United Methodist Church, Troy.

A private family service will be held at a later date when all grandchildren can attend to celebrate her life.
