Virginia Kay Martin Mauldin Virginia Kay Martin Mauldin, age 68, of Covington, Ohio passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at her residence. She was born October 2, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio to Leeland Glenroy Martin and Evelyn Virginia Amos Houdashelt. Kay is survived by her mother of Grove City, Ohio; her husband, John Charles Mauldin; daughter, Diane Stephens of Covington; sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Dana-Lynn Mauldin of Troy and Stephen and Katie Mauldin of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Julie Martin of Pickerington and Ned and Connie Martin of Grove City and sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Pat Thompson of Grove City; five grandchildren, Allisha, Jeremey, Tiffany, Chelsea, and Payton; three great-grandchildren, Andrew; Lahyla; and Hannah; nephews, Kristoffer, Craig, Sean, Michael, and Nathan; and nieces, Amanda and Anna. Kay was preceded in death by her father, Leeland, in October of 1975 and one grandson, Victor C. Steele II on November 15, 2008. Kay was a former member of the West Park Methodist Church in Columbus, Ohio and currently attended the First Baptist Church in Troy. She was an avid bowler and played softball as a talented young athlete. She was fond of travelling and she loved flowers. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids, and our Amos family reunion is something Mom looked forward to every year. She was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother. Services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio with Rev. Dale Christian and Rev. Ed Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 4-7PM on Friday, September 28, 2012 at the funeral home.
