IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Virginia Marie
Bishop Hinkle
June 29, 1923 – October 27, 2007
Virginia Marie Bishop Hinkle Virginia Marie Bishop Hinkle, age 84, of Troy, OH, died at 10:00AM Saturday, October 27, 2007, at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. She was born on June 29, 1923 in Somerset, KY, to the late Alonzo and Nona Reid Bishop. She was married to Hobert Hinkle who preceded her in death in 2002. Mrs. Hinkle is survived by three daughters: Sharon Lilliard Lee Lee of Troy, OH, Velva David Boehnker Hinkle of Kettering, OH and Wanda FayreneLloyd Ballard Hinkle- Ballard of Dayton, OH; brothers: Lloyd Bishop of Nevada, Roscoe Dexter Bishop of Dayton, OH, Clyde Cora Bishop of Kentucky and James Bobbi Bishop of Cincinnati, OH; sister, Alfreda Jack Ritzi of Cincinnati, OH; three grandchildren: Michael Lee of Chicago, Rachel Schwent of Centerville, OH and Stella Hinkle-Boehnker of Kettering, OH; and three great-grandchildren: Sarah and Emilee Schwent and Joshua Watson. She is also survived by her faithful friends: Elaine Massie and Anna Hamby. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Hinkle was preceded in death by two brothers: William and Alvin Bishop. She was a founding member of Troy Baptist Temple. Mrs. Hinkle was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker; she worked in a war plant in Cincinnati during the war, owned her own restaurant in Kentucky, worked at Delco when first married, and later worked at Dolly Toy in Tipp City, OH. Virginia had a joy for life that touched everyone who knew her. Her big, brown eyes and her one-of-a-kind smile were like the sunshine. She was loyal and devoted to the love of her life, Hobert, for 61 years. The pride of her life was her three girls, of whom she often remarked, "I must have raised them right", when they did something to please her. Her joy in later years was her three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She never ceased feeling the role of "Mother hen" to her six brothers and her baby sister. Virginia was a person of high intelligence, priding herself in skipping two years in school. Needlework was a life-long art, having made all of her children's clothing, numerous quilts and blankets, and thousand of yo-yo's for pillows and bedspreads. She had a beautiful soprano voice and sang in church choirs for most of her adult life. She always took great care with her appearance, displaying an artistic expression in her clothing and jewelry. Virginia's family is joyous in the confidence that she has joined her loved ones in Heaven, having professed Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord. Virginia will be remembered by her family and friends as a genteel, southern lady who always conducted herself with admirable grace and self-respect. Although she will be sadly missed, thoughts of her will always bring a smile-she was truly "forever young." WE LOVE YOU MOTHER. Services will be held at 1:00PM Friday, November 2, 2007, at the Troy Baptist Temple with Rev. Frank Workman officiating. Burial will be at Miami Memorial Park, Covington, OH. Friends may call from 5-8PM Thursday at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, OH. Friends may also express condolences to the family through www.bairdfuneralhome.com.
