Vinton David Dorsey Vinton David Dorsey, age 71, of Troy, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at Harborside Health Care Center, Troy. He was born February 7, 1936 in Seaman, Ohio, to the late Charles and Doris Brown Dorsey. His wife of 17 years, April Dorsey, survives. Mr. Dorsey is survived by six sons: Nathan Dorsey of Portsmouth, Dwight Dorsey of Baltimore, MD, Chris Dorsey of Columbus, Brian Dorsey of Columbus, Matthew Dorsey of Columbus and David Dorsey of Troy; three sisters: Ruth Carrey, Faith Kelley and Miriam Dorsey all of Michigan; and eight grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dorsey was preceded in death by one sister, Sarah Dembo. He was a 1953 graduate of Winchester High School and attended First Baptist Church, Troy with his family. He served in the Ohio National Guard for 42 years where he received all distinguished honors and retired as Lt. Colonel. Mr. Dorsey served as a friend and leader to many young men throughout his service. He also worked at the Spring Hill Nurseries in Tipp City, Ohio. A memorial service with Military Honors will be held at 6:00PM Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with Rev. Dr. Douglas Magin officiating.
