Vida M. Nelson Vida M. Nelson, age 87, of Troy, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 in Troy, as the result of an auto accident. She was born on September 23, 1921 in Anna, Ohio, to the late Burt and Augusta Turner Foote. She was married to Jason C. "Jay" Nelson who preceded her in death on April 8, 1995. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jay Donovan Nelson of Leander, Texas and Eric and Sharon Nelson of Trumansburg, New York; two sisters, Inez Wooddell of Sidney, Ohio and Jeanette Dahlgren of Flint, Michigan; one brother, John Foote of Troy; two granddaughters, Erin Alex Herrara of Cedar Park, Texas and Lauren Nelson of Trumansburg, New York; one grandson, Scott Nelson of Trumansburg, New York; and two great-grandsons, Aiden and Keane Herrara. Vida was a graduate of Anna High School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Troy, United Methodist Women and The Cartwright Circle of the Church. She retired from the First United Methodist Church, Troy and formerly worked at the State Highway Department, Sidney office and also retired from the Miami Citizens Bank, Troy and Piqua. Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM on Monday, July 27, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church, Troy with Rev. Dr. James C. Wilson II officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Vandalia, Ohio. Friends may call from 2-5PM on Sunday at Baird Funeral Home, Troy.
