Vera I. Walker Vera I. Walker, 93, formerly of Casstown, Ohio, died Monday, April 2, 2007 at the Covington Care Center, Covington Ohio. She was born December 31, 1913 in Kessler Station, Ohio to the late Frank and Elizabeth Stephen Kessler. She was married to Ralph H. Walker who passed away in 1987. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Ruth Ann Walker of Troy, OH; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Jack Estey of Troy, OH; sister, Katherine Ray of Troy, OH; three grandchildren, Rob Walker, Amy Estey, and Donna Vild; six great-grandchildren, Jamie Walker, Abby Boudreau, Ellen and Grace Vild, and Ross and Erin Walker; and one great-great-grandchild, Clara Elizabeth Boudreau. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Emerson Kessler; and one grandchild, Randy Walker. Mrs. Walker attended Troy Schools. She attended the LostCreek United Church of Christ; she was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Troy; former member and past worthy matron of Christiansburg Mt. Olivet OES; and former charter member of Farm Bureau 4C Council. She was a homemaker and a former volunteer with Dettmer Hospital Auxiliary. Services will be 11:00AM Friday, April 6, 2007 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with Rev. Carol Bastin officiating. Interment will follow in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, OH. Visitation will be from 10-11AM Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County or the Covington Care Center Activity Fund.
