Vera Kuhnle Stephens Vera Kuhnle Stephens, age 86, of Troy, Ohio, passed away Sunday morning, May 17, 2009 at SpringMeade HealthCenter, Tipp City, Ohio. She was born on December 3, 1922 in Troy, Ohio to the late Calvin and Sarah Smitley Kuhnle. She is survived by two daughters: Marilyn and husband Edward Hobart of Troy and Sandra and husband Gary Spangler of Tipp City; three grandsons: Matthew and wife Mandi Spangler of Cincinnati, Ohio, Brian Hobart of Los Angeles, California and Phillip Spangler of Columbus, Ohio; and one great-grandson, Aiden Spangler. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Harold "Steve" Stephens, in April of 1991 and her sister, Dorothy, in 1989. Mrs. Stephens was a loving homemaker. She was also a member of First Lutheran Church, Troy, where she actively served for many years. She was a hospital volunteer for Stouder Memorial Hospital and Upper Valley Medical Center, both of Troy for fifteen years with over 3, 000 hours of service. Private graveside services will be held at Riverside Cemetery with Rev. Ric Barnes officiating. A memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church, Troy, at a later date.
