Velma O. Davis, 94 of Troy, Ohio passed away Sat. July 8, 2001 at Harborside Healthcare Center. She was born Jan. 22, 1907 in Adams Co., Indiana to the late George W. and Huldah Bender Davis. Also preceding her in death were two brothers Voyle and Harold Davis. She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law Donald A. and Dorothy C. Davis; 4 nieces: Ann Louise Nishwitz - Tipp City, OH; Linda Davidson - New Carlisle, OH; Mary L. Sweeney - Troy, OH; Carol Davis - Troy, OH; 2 nephews: Richard Davis - Huber Hts., OH; Brian Davis - Centerville, OH.; 10 Grand nephews and nieces. Ms. Davis was a member of Troy Senior Citizens center, the First United Church of Christ in Troy, Class 12, and a longtime Sunday School teacher. She retired in 1972 as a Statistician at Hobart Manufacturing after 48 years of service. Services will be held Wed. July 11, 2001 at 2:00PM at the Baird Funeral Home with Dr. Michael Carman officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Troy. Friends may call on the family two hours prior to the service on Wed.
