Velda Jean Young Velda Jean Young, age 84, of Beavercreek, Ohio, died at 12:10AM on Monday, April 20, 2009 at the Riverside Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. She was born on July 5, 1924 in Warren County, Ohio, to the late Ollis A. and Gladys Post St. John. Her husband, Louis E. Young, preceded her in death. Mrs. Young is survived by her four children: Karen J. Granville Ellenburg, Diane O. Andrew Durant, Rick Pam Young and Louis A. Joan Young; sister, Rita Joe Pillion; eleven grandchildren: Jeff Mitchell, Cynthia Stenger, Melissa Young, Jordan Gutierrez, Hannah Durant, Joshua Young, Tiffany Young, Stefanie Ellenburg, Rita Moore, Hillary Drake and Bryon Drake; and numerous great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Young was preceded in death by one son, Darrin W. Young; two sisters: Vivian St. John, Miriam Longendelpher; brother, Rollis O. St. John; and one granddaughter, Sheila Spencer. Mrs. Young liked to attend LaComedia shows and attended the MCL Retired Inland Ha-Ha Girls monthly meetings. She retired from Inland GM of Dayton, Ohio. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, April 24, 2009 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with interment to follow at Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home two hours prior to the service on Friday.
