Tommy Jones, age 80, of Troy, Ohio died Saturday, May 8, 2010 in Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, Ohio. He was born September 18, 1929 in Danville, Kentucky, the son of T. J. and Clara Summers Jones. Tommy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Clara S. Steers Jones; sister-in-law, Aileen Jones of Danville, Kentucky and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Lowe and brother, Jack S. Jones. He was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University having earned both Bachelors and Masters Degrees. Tommy was a member of First Baptist Church, Troy, Ohio; Past President of the Troy Kiwanis Club; former member of the Miami County Zoning Board; and a Korean War Veteran serving in the Army Security Agency. He retired as the Miami County School Superintendent. Funeral service will be held 10:00AM, Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the First Baptist Church Troy, Ohio with Pastors Dale Christian and Doug Magin officiating. Burial will take place in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Dry Ridge, Kentucky following the service. Friends may call Monday, May 10, 2010 from 5-8PM at the Baird Funeral Home Troy, Ohio.
