Obituary

Thomas E. "Butch" Stockert III, 62, of Troy, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008 at Upper Valley Medical Center. Thomas was born October 1, 1946 in Gassaway, West Virginia, to the late Thomas E. and Gwendolyn E. Davis Stockert Jr. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Nancy E. Seagraves Stockert; daughters and son-in-law, Angela Stockert of Troy, Kimberly Stockert of Wisconsin, Kelly Moran of Troy, and Sena and Brady Wilson of Troy; a son, Johnny Evans Sr. of Troy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeff and Judy Stockert of Indiana, Jon and Brenda Stockert of West Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law, Nancy Warren of West Virginia, and Debbie and Vernon Nosse also of West Virginia. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Johnny, Brittany, Tyler, Sarah, Kayle, Dylan, David, Hannah, and Connor; and four great-grandchildren, Logan, Sean, Cierra, and Chloe. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Charles and an infant son, William. Thomas was a member of the Troy Fish and Game Club, and he was a former self-employed painter and the former owner of Stockert Painting of Troy. He loved his children, grandchildren, family, and his dogs. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday Dec. 30, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Baird Funeral Home with the Reverend William Seagraves, Jr. officiating. Internment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Vandalia. Friends may call from 12 Noon to 2 pm on Tuesday at the Baird Funeral Home.
