Thomas Edward "Ed" Phelps Thomas Edward "Ed" Phelps, age 54, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 11:30PM on Sunday, December 27, 2009 at University Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio, after a brief illness. He was born on September 26, 1955 in Flatwoods, Kentucky to the late Edward and Georgia Powell Phelps. His wife of 31 years, Cathleen McLaughlin Phelps, survives. Other survivors include his three children: Michael Edward Phelps of Lexington, Kentucky, Kevin Patrick Phelps and Courtney Leigh Phelps both at home; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Stephen and Deborah McLaughlin of St. Joseph, Michigan; and granddaughter, Addison Murray. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ed was a graduate of Morehead State University, Morehead, Kentucky and was an engineer at International Truck and Engine in Springfield, Ohio for over 20 years. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy and Troy Fish and Game. Services will be held at 10:30AM on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy, with Rev. Fr. Gene Vonderhaar officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Friends may call from 4-7PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
