Thomas H. Hawkins, age 74, of Troy, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022.  He was born on January 9, 1948 in Troy to the late Willard R. and Mary Isabel (Sundrup) Hawkins.  On September 25, 1971, Tom married Mary F. (Elliott) Hawkins and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by one sister: Dorothy Louise (Ted) Haulman Miller of Troy; two nephews: Jeffrey Haulman and Aaron C. Elliott; and one niece: Jennifer Haulman Monnin.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother: Willard Raymond Hawkins, II.

Tom was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy.  He was a member of BPOE Troy Elks Lodge #833, where he was Past Exalted Ruler from 1990-1991 and 1991-1992, Past District Activities Chairman, Past Scholarship Chairman and Lodge Secretary for 6½ years.  Tom was a 1966 graduate of Troy High School.   He received both his Bachelor Degree, Master's Degree from University of Dayton and Master's Degree +30 in Education and Teaching.  Tom was a member of Army ROTC during his college years at UD.  He was a retired secondary science teacher with Troy City Schools.

Elks Lodge of Sorrow Service will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, December 16, 2022, at Baird Funeral Home in Troy followed by a Memorial Service with Fr. Steve Shoup officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Troy.  Family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30AM-1:30PM on Friday at the funeral home.
