Thomas Lange Shorty Griscel, 68, of Troy, Ohio died on Friday, February 3, 2006 at his residence. He was born on May 3, 1937 in Piqua, Ohio to the late Foster L. and Mildred Beatrice Davidson Griscel. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Janet Ellen Mathison Griscel; two children, daughters and son-in-law; Alison Marie and Jason Freeman of Brookville, OH; Heather Nicole Griscel of Troy, OH; two stepsons, Ryan Amy Hoerst of Middletown, OH; Justin William Hoerst of Troy, OH, sister and brother-in-law; Betty L. and Stephen Day of Tipp City, OH; two grandchildren, Colin Freeman and Charlie Hoerst; nephew, Mike Kelly Day of Georgia, and niece, Sheri Darren McCormick of Tipp City, OH. He was a member of the Troy Fish and Game Club and was a US Army Veteran. He retired in 1991 from General Motors Company-Inland Division, Vandalia, Ohio. Friends may call on the family, Monday, February 06, 2006 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio from 6-8PM. There will be no public funeral service.
