Thelma M. Young Thelma M. Young, age 88, of Troy, Ohio passed away at 4:00PM on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Heartland of Piqua, Piqua, Ohio. She was born on July 21, 1921 in Taylorsville, Ohio to the late Ralph and Lillian Freese Leonard. She was married to Hayden W. Young who preceded her in death in 1995. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Russell Bogner of Troy, Ohio; son and daughter-in-law, Wes and Sandy Young of Englewood, Ohio; six grandchildren: Jon and Allison, Joel and Joni, Jason and Emily Grimes and Ashley, Chelsea and Emily Young; and four great-grandchildren: Ava, Mia, Mollie and Sophie Grimes. In addition to her parents and her husband, Thelma was preceded in death by her brothers: Paul, Harold, Vaughn and Robert Leonard. She was a 1939 graduate of Staunton High School. Since 1988, Thelma had been a member of First United Methodist Church, Troy; prior to that, she was a member of Troy Church of the Nazarene where she was a Sunday School Teacher and member of the choir. She worked in the accounting department at Hobart Corp., retiring in 1983. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy with interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Troy.
