Thelma I. Walters, age 96, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 5:35 AM on Thursday, October 8, 2009, at Koester Pavilion in Troy. She was born on September 16, 1913, in Piqua, Ohio, to the late Frank and Cora Bausman Brinkman. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Ray L. Walters, who passed away on March 31, 2002. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law: Kenneth Walters of Troy, Gary Mary Walters of Troy, Robert Brenda Walters of Fletcher, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law: Don and Martha Brinkman of Troy; sisters Doris South of Redmond, Washington, Betty Guthrie of Crossville, Tennessee; nine grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Thelma was a retired LPN from Detmer Hospital in Troy, Ohio. She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Troy, Ohio, as well as the Troy Horseshoe Club. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 12, 2009 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Troy.
