Thelma O. Mitchell, age 94 of Troy died Friday, October 19, 2001. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ora and Ethel Townsend Oswalt; husband, Lee M. Mitchell in 1986. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Ted and Gayle; Dr. Robert and Rebecca and Dr. William and Eleanor Mitchell; sisters, Catherine Thomas; and her eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Troy; the Ladies Social Club of the Elks and several bridge clubs. She was a graduate of Greenville High School and the Miami University. She began her teaching career in a one-room schoolhouse in Darke County and completed her career in the math department at the Troy Junior High School.
