Terry L. Coons Terry L. Coons, age 68, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 11:20AM on Monday, November 12, 2012 at Koester Pavilion, Troy. He was born on October 17, 1944 in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Clarence A. and Leitha C. Meeker Coons. In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his wife, Doris A. Mahla Coons, on September 9, 2011 and his sister, Myrna Hand. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Steve Grimme of Huntington, Indiana; twin brother and sister-in-law, Gary L. and Debbie Coons of Monroe, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Melissa Grimme of Cincinnati, Ohio and Matthew Grimme of Union, Ohio. He was a 1963 graduate of Wayne High School and later graduated from the University of Dayton with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He served as a Second Lieutenant of the US Army in the Vietnam War. Terry loved German Shepherds and playing cards. He worked at GE Aviation, retiring after 32 years of service. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8PM on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy.
