Susan L. (Tate) Martin, age 64, of Troy passed away on May 26, 2024 at Hospice of Miami County. She was born on August 13, 1959 in St. Marys, OH to the late Dr. Carl Elsworth and Pauline Mae (Forshey) Tate.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years: Tim Martin; daughters and sons-in-law: Jenn (Eric) Myers of Troy and Tish (Ben) Dehus of Ludlow Falls; grandchildren: Grant Myers, Waylon Myers, Zane Myers, Evelyn Dehus and Sophie Dehus; brother and sisters-in-law: Randy and Lori Tate of Jackson, MI, Suzanne Tate of Lutz, FL and Barb (Fred) Calim of Jackson Center and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Jeffrey Tate and Rick Tate.
She was a 1977 graduate of Troy High School and a member of Sing Out Troy. She was a member of Ginghamsburg United Methodist Church in Tipp City. She enjoyed serving as a youth pastor with Scioto Ridge Church, youth administrative assistant with Cypress Wesleyan Church, an event planner with Ginghamsburg Church and an administrative assistant with Troy First United Methodist Church. Personally, she was co-founder of the Heart to Heart women's retreat and a member of the Prayer and Praise bible study and enjoyed making and decorating cakes and needlepoint.
The family will receive friends from 5:00PM-6:00PM on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy with a service to follow at 6:00PM.
In lieu of flowers and cards, memorial contributions may be made to the Cheryl Bender Legacy College Scholarship Fund, 6759 S. County Road 25A, Tipp City, OH 45371.
