Steve Walter Smith, age 62, born to the late Leona Baker and Richard Smith Sr. in Piqua, Ohio, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. Steve is survived by daughters Tabatha Moore, Stephanie Vaughan, his son-in-laws Clifford Moore, James Vaughan (who he thought of as his own children), grandchildren Christiana Meyer (Jack), Jeremiah Moore, Bryant Smith (Rue), Jacob Moore (Rachael), Brayden Vaughan, Bryson Vaughan, great-grandchildren, Ellie Meyer, Milo Meyer, Apollo Moore. He is also survived by siblings Terry Smith, Sarah Jock (Steve), Richard Smith (Connie), Shannon Smith, half siblings Joseph Smith (Margaret), Brenda Hughes, Beverly Hall. Also survived by his many nieces and nephews and cousins, special grand dogs, Desi, Rocky, Stella, Remi, Guts and Jesse. Steve was preceded in death by sibling Helen Brown, special grand dogs; Coty, Danger, Bella and Scooter.

Steve was proud of his many achievements in life. Graduated from JVS with a CNC Operation Certificate, and retired from B.F. Goodrich. He was an avid fisherman and craftsman, and gamer, he loved to spend time with family. Steve was very proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, referred to as his "babies". His favorite pastime was playing games and watching movies with his grandchildren.

Steve will be remembered by those who knew him well as the most caring and reliable man that you could have the pleasure of knowing. When asked how he was doing, he would always reply, "If I were any happier there'd be two of me!".
