Stella passed away at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at 6:24 PM. She was born on April 27, 1949 to Frances (Hopkins) Moore. She is survived by her husband, Herbert Brewer, daughter, Stacey Brewer, grandson Allen (Kristin) Lee, nephew Steve (Jill) Brewer and niece Teresa (Bill) Hooper.

Stella graduated from the Dayton School of Practical Nursing in 1974. She began her nursing career at Good Samaritan Hospital and retired from nursing in 2012, having spent many of her final years caring for the elderly in Nursing Homes, which was her true calling and passion.

In addition to her family, Stella was also a trusted and beloved friend to many, including her best friend of more than 40 years Ellen (Terry) Brown and the Hula Hoop ladies at the Vandalia Senior Center, who became like a second family in her later life.

Always an advocate for animals, she provided a loving and safe home to many cats and dogs over her lifetime, including her beloved Guserbee, and volunteered her time to support animals in need.

She had a deep appreciation for the arts, particularly live theater, and a special affinity for Community Theater. She was active in the Darke County Civic Theater in productions including Witness for the Prosecution and Angel Street, where she made lifelong friends with cast and crew alike.

Stella was a pint-sized powerhouse with an indomitable spirit that enriched the lives of everyone she met. She made card-writing into a mission for anyone with a birthday, struggling with a difficulty, facing an illness or grieving a loss. Her thoughtfulness and persistent belief that no one should feel forgotten or alone in their hour of need, made everyone feel special.
