Shirley Kay Smith, 61, of Troy, Ohio died on Sunday, October 23, 2005 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, Ohio. She was born on November 16, 1943 in Champaign County, Ohio to Charles and Mabel Free Taylor. She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Taylor and one sister, Barbara Taylor. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Bobby Ray Smith; daughter and son-in-law; Deanna and James Harvey of DeGraff, Ohio; mother, Mabel Free Taylor of St. Paris, Ohio; two brothers, Robert J. Taylor of St. Paris, Ohio; Larry Taylor of Troy, Ohio; one sister, Nancy Jo Davis of Piqua, Ohio; two grandchildren, Tiffany Joe Wise of Piqua, Ohio; Stacey Harvey of DeGraff, Ohio and six great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Troy VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #5436. She worked at Hampton Inn in Troy, Ohio. Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 27, 2005 @ 11:00am at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio with the Rev. Al Bastin officiating. Burial will be in Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Ohio. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 from 6-8pm at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio. A special service with the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #5436 will be held at 7:30pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Upper Valley Medical Center, Cancer Unit.
