Shirley Ann Hensel, age 79, of Troy, OH, passed away on February 19, 2025 at Hospice of Miami County Inpatient. She was born on June 7, 1945 in Piqua, OH to the late Charles A. and Donna I. (Jobes) Spahr.

Shirley is survived by her husband: Bertram "Bert" Carl Hensel of Troy; sons: Christopher T. (Julie Moore) Besecker of Troy, Matthew S. Besecker of Troy, Shawn M. Honeyman of Washington State, and Ryan C. (Moira) Honeyman of Concord, NC; stepsons: Jeffrey C. (Katie Lucca) Hensel of Eugene, OR, and Christian S. (Lisa) Hensel of Mickleton, NJ; sister: Rebecca S. (Spahr) Billings of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers-in-law: Clifton (Margaret) Hensel of Arcanum and Paul A. (Janet) Hensel of Mechanicsburg, PA; sister-in-law: Janice M. (Lyle) Martin of Clarence Center, NY; grandchildren: Patrick C. Besecker, Aimee E. Besecker, Jared S. Besecker, Sierra R. Besecker, Brenden M. Besecker, Samuel R. Moore,  MaryAnne G. D. Honeyman, Alexander N.C. Honeyman, Charles T. Honeyman, and Henry A. Honeyman; great grandchildren: Theo S. Besecker, Christian B. Besecker, and Niko R. Besecker; numerous nieces and nephews; and dear friends: Barb Sease, Gail Besecker, Flo McNichols, Nancy Frantz, Dave and Linda Berrett, and Susan Besecker.  In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her siblings: Steven Michael Spahr and Sandra L. (Spahr) Rudd; and niece: Stephanie E. (Spahr) Utley.

Shirley was a graduate of Franklin-Monroe High School in Pitsburg, OH. She was also a graduate of Edison State Community College earning her Associate's Degree in Nursing. Shirley worked at Stouder Memorial Hospital in Troy and Good Samaritan in Dayton as an RN for many years before retiring. She loved her family, cooking, traveling, and nursing.

Private Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family.
