Obituary

Shirley A. Davis rejoiced in the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

Shirley was born to the late Anna Mary and Lloyd Allen on October 21, 1937, in Troy, Ohio. She resided in Troy throughout her life, retiring from the Miami County Mental Health Center as the Finance Director after 28 years.

Shirley married Ray Davis, Jr. on June 16, 1957. The two of them built a beautiful life together, which included two daughters: Debi (Kevin) Jacobs & Julie (Rob) Williams.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, as well as many family members and friends, whom she was ready to see again in Heaven. Shirley is survived by her two daughters: Debi & Julie; her son-in-law: Rob; three grandchildren: Daniel Williams, Chelsea (Nathan) Warner, Abby Jacobs; and her great grandson: Cole Warner.

Shirley was a pillar of faith in her church and the glue that held her family together. She spent her years pouring into many women, guiding them through life's mountains and valleys. She was a fierce prayer warrior and relied on God's promises every day.

Shirley loved spending time at her home in the North Woods of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, where memories were made for years and years. She loved her family, good food, reading, and playing Euchre with her grandchildren. Shirley was also known for catching the biggest fish, thanks to her lucky fishin' hat. Shirley loved music and is remembered by many for singing often at Troy Church of the Nazarene.

Shirley's friends and family will miss her immensely, but will rest in knowing that she has been made new as she walks in God's Kingdom. She has left a legacy of faith that was built by a lifetime of faithfulness, love, and prayer.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 PM on July 28, 2022 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00 – 6:00 PM.
