Sherman F. Van Kirk Sherman F. Van Kirk, 88, of Troy, Ohio passed away Thursday, December 20, 2007 at Koester Pavilion, Troy. He was born December 30, 1918 in Bradford, Ohio to the late Samuel and Laura North Van Kirk. He was married to Joy Gunderson Van Kirk who preceded him in death. He is survived by his brother, Ralph Dorothy Van Kirk of Troy, Ohio; sisters: Sally Clyde Shaffer of Piqua and Lillie Mayes of Piqua; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Van Kirk was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers: Robert, Wayne and Homer, and sisters, Sylvia and Sadie. Mr. Van Kirk was a US Army Veteran of WWII, a member of the Troy Fish & Game, National Rifle Association, and was an avid hunter. He also enjoyed fishing and the Cincinnati Reds. He was an employee for 29 years with Goodrich Aerospace. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Monday, December 24, 2007 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio with interment to follow at Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Ohio.
