Sharon A. McCarthy, age 64, of Troy, OH passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017 at The Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital, Columbus, OH.  She was born on December 9, 1952 in Louisville, KY to William Thoma and Barbara (Pour) Thoma both of Dayton, OH.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years: John D. McCarthy; two daughters: Sophia (Matthew) Stamper of Germantown, OH and Diana Dimitriou (Fiance' Chris Wojtkiewicz) of Chicago, IL; three siblings: Mark (Karen) Thoma of Grosse Point, MI; Judy (Tony) Lyons of Tucson, AZ and Matthew Thoma of Yellow Springs, OH; granddaughter: Zoey Stamper and niece: Renee (Aaron) Render of Grosse Point, MI.

Sharon was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy, OH.  She graduated as an X-Ray Technician and then became a Mammographer at Upper Valley Medical Center and Good Samaritan Hospital.  Sharon was passionate about animal rescue along with gardening and sewing.  She was a strong advocate for cancer awareness, detection and prevention.  She believed strongly in giving back and helping others.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, November 3, 2017 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy, OH with Rev. Fr.
