SHARON ELAINE BUCHANAN, age 74, of Troy, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at her residence.  She was born in Troy on April 10, 1943 to the late Silas Ralph and Mabel Marie (Freeze) Macy.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 54 years: Marvin J. Buchanan; one daughter: Beth (Dean) Hunter of Troy; two sons: Scott Allen (LeeAnne) Buchanan of Troy and Craig J. (Barbara) Buchanan of Unicoi, TN; sister: Louise McKinney of Hamilton; nine grandchildren: Brittany, Chasity, Tory, C. J., Courtney (Jordan), Greg, Allie, Duncan and Cheyenne; and two great grandchildren: Owen and Carter.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister: Nancy Lawrence; and one brother: Charles Owen.

Sharon was a 1961 graduate of Miami East High School.  She was a member of Women of the Moose Lodge and the First Presbyterian Church, Troy.  Sharon retired from Marsh Supermarket after many years of service.  She scanned the first bar code ever while employed there.  Sharon also worked for Hobart and at Troy Moose Lodge 1044.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.  Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
