IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sharon Ann
Fulker Orozco
March 23, 1964 – September 27, 2025
Sharon passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on 9/27/2025 after a lengthy battle with lung cancer. She was born in Smithtown, NY in 1964 and moved to Troy, Ohio in 1973. She participated in 4H and Girl Scouts as a young girl, and while at Troy High School, she was a varsity tennis player, a flute player in the band, also joining the flag squad in the marching band. After high school, Sharon earned her BS in Nursing at The Ohio State University and became a lifelong Buckeye fan (O-H!).
Upon graduation, Sharon returned to Troy and found her passion as a labor and delivery nurse at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney. She had an aptitude for teaching which led to a master's degree in nursing education.
Family was incredibly important to Sharon, and she was an outstanding mom. She supported her children in all their interests; she was a dedicated chaperone and band mom, swimming mom, and tennis mom. There seemed to be no end to her energy and enthusiasm when it came to her love for her family. When her children were born, she worked part time and was heavily involved with their early years. She made sure to spend time with them each day. She enjoyed being active, particularly in tennis and snow skiing. She loved teaching these activities to the kids and doing them together every year.
Sharon enjoyed a good cup of coffee, a glass of wine with loved ones, drinks with friends, Winan's chaider, and late-night TV with her family. She loved to laugh and spend a day outside by the pool in the sun.
She had a creative streak that appeared in her masterful gift wrapping throughout the year, Christmas cards, gardening, locker art for her kids' school activities, and especially as an avid scrapbooker. She met at least monthly with a wonderful group of "snackers, yackers, and scrappers!"
Sharon worked for both Miami Valley Hospital in the Fetal to Newborn Care Center and Dayton Children's Hospital as a nurse navigator. Sharon specialized in perinatal and women's health. She also had extensive experience educating families about pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding.
Sharon was a recognized nurse leader improving the quality of nurse education throughout Southwest Ohio. She developed and presented numerous continuing education programs for nurses through the Perinatal Consortium for Educational Opportunities (PCEO), ensuring pregnant and new mothers receive the best care possible.
Prior to joining the Fetal to Newborn Care Center, Sharon was the nurse manager of the Birth & Family Education Department at Miami Valley Hospital, where she completely revised the childbirth education and lactation programs serving both Miami Valley Hospital and Miami Valley Hospital South. She also served as the project manager for Women's Services at Miami Valley Hospital where she was responsible for Mahogany's Child, an African American women's health program.
She leaves behind her husband of 32 years, US Air Force Lt Col (Ret) Bob Orozco and her children Meredith (Peter) Glotfelty of Kirkland WA, Lindsey (Oleg) Budachov of Tustin CA, and Mitch Orozco of Mankato MN. She also leaves behind her mother Loretta Williams of Troy, sister Sandy Brubaker of Troy, niece Hallie (Brady) Lucas of Columbus, as well as numerous relatives on the east coast and Bob's father, mother, sister and brother-in-law.
Sharon was welcomed into Heaven by her father Harry S. Williams and her first husband, J. Andrew Fulker.
